Recruitment Week and the Unity of Sixteen

Oklahoma Academic Team did well during Recruitment Week. Twenty-five prospective members attended at least one meeting last week to see just what this organization does. To those of you who attended, your interest in OAT is much appreciated. Just for fun, here is some demographic information on our 25 recruits:

  • Sixteen (64%) are males, and nine (36%) are females.
  • Sixteen are from Oklahoma (including six from Mustang), four are from Texas, and one member each is from Alabama, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, and Washington.
  • Hard science majors abound in this recruiting class with sixteen. The full list of fields represented by all 25 recruits is architecture, biochemistry, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, English, film and video studies, finance, industrial engineering, linguistics, mathematics, mechanical engineering, meteorology, microbiology, political science, and zoology.
  • Sixteen are freshmen, seven are sophomores, one is a junior, and one is a senior. (These classifications represent year of attendance and not hours.)
  • By the way, the sixteen members that form the particular majority in each section are different.

Oklahoma Academic Team will soon determine its practice locations and times for the Fall 2006 semester. The front page will be updated with that information when it is released.
