On April 28 and 29, Oklahoma Academic Team hosted mirrors of both the Moon Pie Classic and RC Cola Classic by the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
At Moon Pie, five teams, including one house team, competed in a double round-robin. Harding then defeated Kansas State in a one-game playoff to win the Moon Pie championship. The top five scorers were Jason Loy (Harding), David Gagne (Oklahoma), Sam Neal (Kansas State), Ryan Grabowski (Oklahoma), and Sean Garrett (Texas-Dallas A). Full results are available at http://www.ou.edu/student/okacf/results/mp07_standings.html.
RC Cola had a similar situation in that five teams, including two house teams, also competed in a double round-robin. We Don't Know Who We Are (Texas-Dallas A), so named because they changed their team name for every round, defeated Alcoholics Synonymous (Tulsa) in a one-game playoff to win the RC Cola championship. The top five scorers were Captain Morgan (Angelo Malabanan, Tulsa), Music Guy (Ryan Grabowski, Oklahoma B), Video Game Guy (Brian Morrow, Oklahoma B), Captain Freedom (Chris Terrill, Oklahoma A), and Mike Williams (Sean Garrett, Texas-Dallas A). Full results are at http://www.ou.edu/student/okacf/results/rc07_standings.html.
Thanks to all the teams who attended the tournaments this weekend. The next tournament for Oklahoma Academic Team will be the Kelvin Sampson Memorial Tournament: Don't Call Us; We'll Call You, a mirror of Maryland's Chris McCray Tournament for Academic Excellence, on June 30, 2007.
